about

I’m proud to present my debut solo album on my Cross Street Music label. This release was originally signed to and announced on another label that I have now parted ways with. It is available now for free. This is a collection of tracks produced over the last five years with the intention of building tracks for a solo album. There won’t be any vinyl edition at this time or press campaign & promo sendout of this particular album for various reasons. This is the originally planned, full version of the album with all 9 tracks.

The album really started coming together when I moved to Catalpa Ave, and produced the namesake track as the first track in my new studio. Complicated is trying to make a club track I would play at Bossa. (Follow) the Form started as an ambient track, the idea for the musical structure came into my head as I was walking down Catalpa, then I wrote the track and eventually put a beat to it. Racetrack in Germany is a track inspired by Gil Scott-Heron & Brian Jackson, who are some of my heroes. My Bassline was me trying to show my worth as a bass player by doing a bass led track.

Susie’s theme is dedicated to Susie Lichter who graciously gave me the computer I produced the album on. All she asked for was a track in return and it was the first track I made on it. Will Martin and Soren Jahan also helped me a lot in the making of this album in an indirect way. Our collaborations made me a better producer and gave me the ability to present this album as I had intended to, and to become the producer I wanted to become. Special thanks to Paul Morse for the vocals on Complicated and for the 106, much love. All tracks mastered by Scott Martin, except 1, 2, and 6 by me. It took a long time to do a solo album because I wanted to do it right and I hope these tracks do right by you. Thank you for listening.
